Two e-learning leaders formed CertiLearn in 1999: IntraLearn Software Corporation and New River Capital Partners. In February 2000, Avectra, a leading provider of web-enabled customer relationship management software, became an investor in CertiLearn.

New River Capital Partners. New River is a Private Equity firm with a focus on e-learning. The firm's principals have served as CEO and other senior executive positions with several major corporations, including AutoNation and Blockbuster Entertainment Group. New River’s offices are located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

IntraLearn Software Corporation. Founded in 1994, IntraLearn Software Corporation develops e-learning software that has been used in over 700 organizations to serve 2 millions of online learners.

Avectra. Avectra has provided information technology solutions to over 500 organizations.
